New road-tax rates in Delhi from 1st June 2010

The Registration of luxury cars in the national capital is going to become costlier very soon, as the state government announced new road tax rates on Monday that are expected to be implemented from the starting of next month.As per the new tax rates, the cars which are coming with a price tag of less than Rs 6 lakh will attract a road tax of 4 percent, while the cars priced between Rs 6 to 10 lakhs will be attracting a revised road tax rate of 7 percent. With this, the cars which fall in the price segment of more than Rs 10 lakh will attract a 10% road tax rate as compare to the existing road tax rate of 4 percent.





On the other hand, in two wheeler segment, while the two-wheelers priced below 25,000 will be attracting a road tax rate of 2 percen, the bikes and scooters which are priced between Rs 25 to 40 thousand will be attracting a revised road tax rate of 4 percent.


Moreover, the two-wheelers which has price tag of more than 40,000 will be attracting a 6 % road-tax rate. The cars of Rs 10 to 15 lakh segment like Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla Altis, Skoda Laura and Octavia will be among the worst affected four-wheelers by this road-tax revision.
