Nissan Micra to raise a price war in compact-car segment

Nissan Micra, one of the most awaited compact-hatchbacks in India, is expected to be launched in a competitive price range of Rs 3,90,000 to 5,20,000 (New-Delhi ex-showroom price) since almost all popular compact cars in the country fall in the same price segment. After its launch in India, Micra will be competing against some of the best-selling cars of its segment including Chevrolet Beat, Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai i10 and the upcoming Toyota Etios.

The launch of Micra in India will mark the debut of Japanese auto behemoth in compact-car segment which accounts for more than 70% of total annual car sales in India. As the competition is very tough in this segment, the company has decorated Micra with some unique exterior and interior features. It is expected that the fully loaded version of Micra will be equipped with a basket full of features including auto AC (climate control), ABS, fog lamps and security alarm, push button ignition and front passenger side airbag.

Micra has specially been designed at Nissan's V-platform for emerging markets like India and China, where there is an immense growth potential in the compact-car segment.
