Five months back the two auto majors Volkswagen and Maruti Suzuki Corp. made a deal wherein Volkswagen had acquired 20% stake in the latter. The deal was made in accordance to the fact that the two companies would indeed share their technical know how in odder to develop and sell better cars in the International markets. There is news that teams from both Maruti Suzuki and Volkswagen have visited each other's manufacturing plants to start their synergy into developing small cars.
According to the recent reports on the same the two biggies would understand each other's knowledge sphere wherein Volkswagen would contribute in imparting better performance automobiles and Maruti would indeed share its expertise into making quality small cars. The two companies however understand that their cars are bound to compete against each other and also with other competitive brands in the international market. Officials from both companies are remaining tight lipped on any such development.
Maruti Suzuki refused to comment and Volkswagen officials said that it indeed is too early to comment on any such deal. Experts from the industry suggest that if the technologies from both the companies combine that would help cars being exported to the global markets. The main areas which would be used in collaboration and knowledge share are product development, design, implementation and manufacturing.
